The Siegel/Huang research group from the Collaborative Innovation Center of Chemical Science and Engineering (2011 center) as well as School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Tianjin University is now inviting for a postdoctoral Research Associate to work under the supervision of Prof. Jay Siegel and/or Assoc. Prof. Jianhui Huang on project(s) funded by 2011 center.
The aim of the project is the chemical synthesis of new functional molecular materials designed with the aid of modern structural theory. Polynuclear (hetero)aromatic hydrocarbons, particularly curved and extended systems, with novel properties as optoelectronic materials, metal-coordination frameworks or bio-organic conjugates, comprise the majority of the target structures.
The candidate is expected to have strong synthetic and physical organic chemistry skills, experience with all routine purification techniques and analytical methods, and knowledge of standard computer software. A strong work ethic, team-spirit and fluency in English (written and spoke) is essential.
Qualified candidates should either already have a PhD in Chemistry, or have submitted your thesis prior to taking up the post.
The post is available from 1st August, 2015 to 30th September.
